Despite the hot weather, thousands of people lined the streets to enjoy the RCPC Fourth of July Parade. Hundreds of families came to the Festival in the Park after the Parade for the patriotic speeches and the family friendly fun. Our theme: “Red, White and YOU!”
Our Grand Marshal: Joel Williams, III, Park Cities businessman and community leader. Our Beneficiary: The North Texas Food Bank, one of RCPC’s collaborative partners. Through the generosity of our sponsors and individual contributors, $57,393.65 was raised for the NTFB, which with the strategic use of matching funds, became $193,574.60, and which translated into well over a million meals!

And – it was a great time! The parade featured floats from neighborhood businesses, decorated new and vintage cars and fire trucks, representatives of the Town of Highland Park and the City of University Park, student floats from Highland Park H.S. and SMU, a few Elvis’s, several horses, and LOTS of balloons and candy! There was bicycle judging and the children on bicycles then joined the Parade.
Almost every member of RCPC had a part in preparing for and putting on the Parade, all under the leadership of member Co-Chairs Jill Jordan and Alan Winn.
