2021-2022 RCPC Club Awards - NEED YOUR NOMINATIONS!
Fellow Rotarians: Our 2021-2022 Rotary year is almost over and what a year it has been! So much has been accomplished and we have much to celebrate. It is time now to think about who you would like to nominate for our Club Awards.
For the benefit of our new members, each year at our installation banquet, we recognize members of our club with these special awards named after some of our club legends. For your review and use are two attachments. The first one is the Award Nomination Ballot (here) and the second is the description of each award and a list of the past winners (here). We do not have to declare a winner of each award should we determine that no one is deserving for this year. It is nice to present seven awards but it is not mandatory. Typically the award is not given to the same individual twice and these awards are for club members other than current officers and members of the selection committee. The selection committee is made up of the executive committee, Fred Brown and Karen Farris.

Rotary Contributions to The Ukraine
In response to the deepening humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, The Rotary Foundation has created an official channel for donors around the world to contribute funds to support the relief efforts underway by Rotary districts and has designated its Disaster Response Fund [https://my.rotary.org/en/disaster-response-fund] as the main avenue for contributions.
To this end, The Rotary Foundation has approved:
Now through 30 June 2022, designated Rotary districts that border Ukraine and the Rotary district in Ukraine may apply for grants of up to $50,000 each from the Disaster Response Fund. These expedited disaster response grants can be used to provide relief to refugees or other victims of the crisis including items such as water, food, shelter, medicine and clothing.
During this same period, other impacted Rotary districts that wish to offer support to refugees or other victims of the crisis in their district can apply for $25,000 grants from the Disaster Response Fund. To read the entire notice, clickhere.

Thank you to all who donated online and during at Happy Bucks at the May 6th meeting. Since last week we have raised an additional 7,200 meals! Please remember that Happy Bucks for the month of May will be donated to the NTFB towards our 1,000,000 meals goal. Cash or checks accepted. If paying with a check, please make it payable to the "North Texas Food Bank." Current donations will receive a double match by the David M. Crowley Foundation.
For example, a $50 donation x double match x 3 meals/dollar = 300 meals or a $100 donation x double match x 3 meals/dollar = 600 meals

The Rotary Club of Park Cities' Communities Fund was originally sponsored in the 1960’s by the Rotary Club of Park Cities (“RCPC”) for the purpose of providing an enduring legal entity through which members and friends of the Rotary Club of Park Cities might make donations for the good of mankind and the Dallas community. The fund continues to this day to consider internal and external grant requests submitted on the RCPC Foundation online grant portal found on the club website.
The grant request approved at our May 2021 meeting includes:
• $4000 grant for scholarships for Hillcrest High School graduating seniors
The Executive Team denied the following two grant requests:

Family Compass
The Executive Team voted to roll over the remaining $7,152.81 available grant monies until the 2021-22 fiscal year, which starts on July 1, 2021.
According to the Fund’s Policies and Procedures dated November 8, 2011, Section 11. Tenure; Removal Non-Ex Officio members of the Executive Committee serve four year terms. The Executive Team recommended to the RCPC Board that Daniel Drabinski replace Cleve Clinton as a Non-Ex Officio member of the Executive Committee. The RCPC Board unanimously approved his nomination. His term will be held from 2021-2025.
The fund balance as of May 11, 2021 was $1,847,218.00 (almost $400K higher than this time last year). The Communities Foundation of Texas has done an incredible job managing the fund. The amount available each year for grants is derived from an average over 16 quarters (4 years), then, 4.5% of that amount is the amount available for distribution the following year.
Our Sgt. at Arms Kyle Marmillion, reported that the RCPC Foundation fund donations thru 4-30-21 totals $62,822.10 from 89 donors!
To the Foundation Fund: $6,422.10 from 37 donors
To the Bonton Clinic: $56,400.00 from 52 donors
