from PP Karen Farris:
2023-24 Club Awards - Need your nominations
It is hard to believe but our 2023-2024 Rotary Year is almost over. What a great year we have had.
For the benefit of our new members, each year at our installation banquet, we recognize members of our club with these special awards named after some of our club legends.
For your review and use are two attachments. The first one is the Award Nomination Ballot [here] and the second is the description of each award and a list of the past winners [here].
We do not have to declare a winner of each award should we determine that no one is deserving for this year. It is nice to present eight awards but it is not mandatory. Typically the award is not given to the same individual twice and these awards are for club members other than current officers and members of the selection committee. The selection committee is made up of the executive committee, Fred Brown and Karen Farris. Please email your nominations to Fred or Karen at the email address shown below - no later than May 22.
Thank you and don't forget to mark your calendars for the Installation and Awards Luncheon on June 28th at Ozona Grill.
or mail your check to Laurie Aldredge at the Club's office address - 8350 N. Central Expressway, Ste. 1900, Dallas, TX 75206.
Dues payments are non-refundable.

Club merchandise!
This is only for second shirts and hats! The first shirt and hat new members receive for free as part of their blue badge requisites (during their visit to the Club office).
In alignment with Rotary International's mission of "Service Above Self," Camp RYLA 5810 will offer students the chance to engage in hands-on community service this year at camp! Camp RYLA 5810 is spearheading, with the support of Rotary, two community service initiatives. One is to gather hygiene products for the Metrocrest Services Pantry and create family hygiene kits. The second is to provide non-perishable food items for RYLA participants to assemble 500 sack lunches to support the Veterans Resource Center (VRC). On May 30th, campers will sort and pack these items during our program on community and the importance of giving back. We invite all clubs, and individuals, to make monetary donations to support these projects. All donations collected will be tax deductible through the RYLA 5810 Foundation 501(c)(3) charitable corporation. Any surplus funds will be donated directly to Metrocrest Services and the Veterans Resource Center (VRC).

From Nolan Duck, President-Elect of RCPC and President of the RCPC Foundation - 2023-24
The Rotary Club of Park Cities' Communities Fund was originally sponsored in the 1960’s by the Rotary Club of Park Cities (“RCPC”) for the purpose of providing an enduring legal entity through which members and friends of the Rotary Club of Park Cities might make donations for the good of mankind and the Dallas community. The fund continues to this day to consider internal and external grant requests submitted on the RCPC Foundation online grant portal found on the club website.
The following grant requests were approved at our November 2022 meeting:
• $1,000 grant for scholarships for Hillcrest High School for scholarship to honor RCPC long term member C.C. Collie
• $5,413.44 grant for Equest
• $6,000 grant for the Agape Clinic
The Executive Team denied the following grant request:
• Addison Midday grant request for Genesis Women's Shelter
The fund balance as of November 30, 2022, was $1,710.729.17. The Communities Foundation of Texas manages the RCPC Foundation Fund. The amount available each year for grants is derived from an average over 16 quarters (4 years), then, 4.5% of that amount is the amount available for distribution the following year.
Our Sgt. at Arms Kathy Wall for 2022-2023, reported that the RCPC Foundation Fund donations thru 11-30-2022 totals $9,116.00 from 37 donors!
To the Foundation Fund: $9,116.00 from 37 donors
To the Bonton Clinic: $200.00 from 1 donor
Your contributions make an incredible difference in the amount we are able to distribute to worthy local organizations.
